As a former teacher, I feel strongly about education reform. I believe that successful schools show continuous improvement in their programs, curriculum,faculty and student development. I believe in supporting and rewarding innovative schools with federal grant funding and using funds to facilitate reforms and transformation in under-performing schools. However, I am opposed to the use of public funds for private schools as advocated by many charter school proposals.

Jobs: If all Americans pay their fair share in taxes, there would be enough funds to support infrastructure projects. I support "Bring the Jobs Home" as we need incentives for employers to create and keep good jobs in the USA. Education: An educated population is an asset. I believe in a strong public school system. If we are to be a competitive nation, we need to make higher education (post secondary and/or vocational training) a priority. Higher education has to be both affordable and available, or we forfeit a generation of progress and growth.
